Everywhere in the world women live longer than men – but this was not always the case. The available data from rich countries shows that women didn’t live longer than men in the 19th century. What’s the main reason women live longer than men? What is the reason does this benefit increase as time passes? The evidence is limited and we have only some answers. We know that biological, افضل شامبو وبلسم behavioral and environmental factors play a role in the fact that women are healthier than men; however, we do not know how much the influence to each of these variables is.

In spite of the precise amount of weight, we are aware that a large portion of the reason why women live longer than men today but not previously, has to have to do with the fact that several fundamental non-biological factors have changed. These are the factors that are changing. Some are well known and relatively straightforward, like the fact that men smoke more often. Others are more complicated. For example, there is evidence that in rich countries the female advantage increased in part because infectious diseases used to affect women disproportionately a century ago, so advances in medicine that reduced the long-term health burden from infectious diseases, especially for survivors, ended up raising women’s longevity disproportionately.

Everywhere in the world women tend to live longer than men
The first chart below shows life expectancy at birth for افضل شامبو وبلسم men and women. It is clear that every country is above the line of parity diagonally. This implies that a baby girl from every country could be expected to live for longer than her brothers.

Interestingly, this chart shows that, while the advantage for women exists in all countries, global differences are significant. In Russia women have an average of 10 years more than men; in Bhutan the difference is just half each year.

__S.19__
The female advantage in life expectancy was much lower in the richer countries that it is today.
Let’s examine the way that female advantages in longevity has changed over time. The following chart shows the life expectancy of males and females when they were born in the US from 1790 to 2014. Two areas stand out.

The first is that there is an upward trend. Both genders living in America are living longer than they were 100 years ago. This is in line with historical increases in life expectancy everywhere in the world.

The gap is growing: Although the female advantage in terms of life expectancy was tiny but it has risen significantly over time.

By selecting ‘Change Country’ on the chart, you will be able to verify that these two points are applicable to other countries that have available data: Sweden, France and the UK.
