What do social media have to do with SEO? At MWI, we get many of these inquiries from potential and current clients. While social media has become an increasing channel for marketing in recent years, most firms haven’t yet begun to benefit from the potential of it. This is crucial to consider if you’re planning to invest in SEO. Creating and managing social media accounts is important for supporting SEO initiatives, but the benefits of social media aren’t always apparent. Here are five benefits of social media is important for SEO.

1) Social Media Signals
It’s no secret that Google, Bing, and زيادة مشاهدات اليوتيوب other search engines utilize online conversations as part of their ranking algorithms. Social engagement occurs when users like, share or share a tweet about a piece of content. A piece of content with more social engagements will be able to show more social signals. Social signals are utilized by search engines to determine the quality of content. It’s a way to measure what content people find useful over what their algorithm determines to be of high quality. If a piece of content is receiving lots of engagement on social media, it can be instantly indexable.

2) Link Building
It’s long gone of soliciting websites to add links to yours. With the advent of Google’s Panda and Penguin algorithm SEOs are now forced to perform link building in by hand and create content of high-quality that is link-worthy. But how do you reach websites willing to link to your content if asking them directly is considered an “unnatural” practice for building links? Social media is the answer. Social media can help you place your content in front of people who are interested and could be influenced to link to it when it’s worthy of linking to. They will also be able to share your content with other people, increasing your influence.

3) Amplification of content
You can make all the excellent content you’d like to but it’s not going to gain much traction without amplification. Marketing via email can be an effective method to increase the reach of your content , but it can only reach those in your list of marketing contacts. You can reach new audiences through social media. Once you share your content, your following will share it with their following should they find it valuable. The people who share it will be able to share your content with their followers, increasing the reach of your content. In return, you gain a lot of relevant traffic and inbound links, as well as branding awareness and social signals These are all utilized by search engines to judge the quality of the content.

Social media aids in building brand recognition and boosts the visibility of your content. This is what Google calls a co-citation. Co-citations can be created through social media to improve Google’s credibility and aid in brand-name searches.

5.) Social Indexing
Since the search engines are able to index social media profiles which means they show as search results. This allows your company to be displayed in search results that include branded search queries , which is more than just your company website. It’s even better. Individual tweets on Twitter were once indexed and shown in search results too – enabling another way for your content to rank in search. It was only temporary for a few months until Google decided to discontinue the service, and it’s still in place. Google will once again show tweets in search results, so it’s important to leverage it for getting your content ranked.
